The Khalanga – Khar – Dethala Road project, located in the remote Darchula District of far-western Nepal, was executed by Gwallek Nirman Sewa. This road upgrade connects the district headquarter area of Khalanga with the Khar and Dethala communities, improving access, connectivity and supporting regional development. The scope of work included upgrading the existing road alignment, widening carriageways, strengthening the pavement, installation of drainage structures, river‐training works where required, and ensuring all segments meet safe standards for vehicular traffic under adverse weather and mountainous terrain conditions.
By improving this vital link, the project contributes to greater mobility for residents, increased opportunities for trade and tourism, enhanced delivery of public services and emergency access, and supports the Government’s wider goal of building resilient infrastructure in Nepal’s remote regions.
